We started in 1995, writing software utilities for DOS(R) at the time. The Scr Worx rolled out software under the name of "Scr Software"(RIP '93) at the time. No big success was attached to this name, until we wrote a nice little invoice program. People started requiring us to write software for use in SOHO environments, which we did, attaching copyright information of the specific business to each program. Many unique products came to life, including a manager for policies, created for a Burial Services group.
The name was changed with the announcement of Crook 1, a well known program that compiles cheats for many games into a single database. With the release of SQUASH, a compression tool for programming source files, and RETRIEVER for DOS(r) in '97 (both put up as FREEWARE on public domain sites by unknown persons), our name finally got out.
We now create utilities for Windows(r) that have the same functionality and flexibility as their DOS(r) counterparts -- The type of stuff you won't see anywhere else. Most of our products are unlike any other, providing the missing link between computer problems and their solutions. Putting the power back where it should be -- In your hands.
Modern day PC's have so many quirks and troubles, and with the unreliability of modern technology, we try to produce a solution for common problems when all you need is a little utility to do a quick job, and you end up paying through your teeth for an enormous package with lots of features -- which you'll most likely never use anyways.
So, basically our aim is to produce those "little utilities" that you are allways looking for. On this site, you will find the FREEWARE versions, as well as re-released programs that we have previously written (or that we are still writing) available for download. You don't ever need to register or pay after 30 days and what-not. Every download is FREE. Please note thought that most of these are limited in functionality, as they would then have full versions available for purchase. In some cases, we would write software especially for a customer, provided we are allowed to release it to the world, with credit given to the user.
